I was reviewing some old photographs to use as examples for the workshop I'll be teaching at the end of September when I came across this nice image of Maria Smith. I was shooting photos for the web site for the Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour in Mountain View, Arkansas. It was a great way to meet all of the artists and crafts people in the area and I got some rather interesting photographs.

Maria's son,Jed, will be a sophomore at Lyon this year. Nice photo. I like the one of the heron, too. My heron pics usually end up being a fuzzy shot of their feet as they fly out of the frame.
