HDR First Attempt

This is my first attempt at a high dynamic range (HDR) image using Photomatix software. Not the best subject for an HDR. Hope to get some better examples from my trip to California in May.

Willow Tree

Went out to Sweet Allyn Park this morning to photograph the trunk of an old willow tree.

The Villager

Here are three photographs of Betsy, owner of The Villager. These are part of a series I'm doing of environmental portraits of downtown business owners.

Kid Pics

Thought I'd try my hand at shooting in a studio situation yesterday. So I hauled all my equipment up to Milton and set up in a space my sister and brother-in-law have and photographed the two daughters of a friend of theirs. I think these look pretty good for someone who does not work in a studio ever.

Jennifer at Pleasant Street Coffee

Another environmental portrait to use as an example for my Introduction to Photography class. This is Jennifer, the owner of Pleasant Street Coffee. Not quite sure I like the lighting all that much. But as I'm just getting back into lighting spaces, I'm sure it will improve.

Early Morning

Took some early morning photographs today and converted them to black and white.

A beautiful spring like day today so I wandered around looking for photographs and found these.

Infinite Universe

Space, the final frontier. Well, OK, it's just a parking lot but I see a universe overlaid with a grid.

Mark Miller

I was trying out the use of my Norman B400 flash as a bare bulb flash. Here's the first attempt of an environmental portrait of Mark Miller at Badger Spirits.

Famous Photographs in Lego

I came across this wonderful set of images of famous photographs that had been redone using Legos. Here's the famous Lewis Hine image of a power house mechanic working on a steam pump in the original (top) and the Lego version (bottom). Really very well done. Some of them made me laugh. Here's the link to the rest of the images: www.flickr.com/photos/balakov
